I read these novels a long time ago and was very sad to hear the author passed away. She has such an inspirational tone and you care about the characters and their family dynamic. I can only hope that maybe one day her daughter will pick up the baton and continue where her mother left off. Action, multi-cultural and syfy dream. I haven't found anyone that gets to this level for people of all colors.Product details

I really enjoy rereading this series. I just got lost in this book for hours at a time. Can't wait to read the next book.
I loved the second installment of this book. It picks up where the first book left off. You'll enjoy reading about how Damali is coming into her own.
This story could well be the Romeo & Juliet of the vampire novels. Two people who were destined to be together, but can't because of who they are {Carlos-Mater Vampire & Damali-Neteru (vampire slayer)}, but they still love each other. They're love is so strong that it transcends boundaries. However, the love has to be put on the back burner, so that they can help their respective families take care of business.
Also, Carlos is the man! The way he stands up for his woman in the end is unforgetable.I can't wait for the next book "The Hunted". I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good series to sink their teeth into.
Picking right up where Minion left off, Damali(now a full Neteru) and her Guardian team are battling the forces of Hell,the evil vampire Fallon Nuit and trying to see if Carlos is friend or foe.you can feel the love between Damali & Carlos start to bloom, but sohould she tusrt him? This book really got my attention , more that Minion, it had more action and suspense and this is the book that really drew me into the series.Loved it.
So love this series... finally a heroine that I can identity with.... a multi-cultural cast of characters. A story based in female enpowerment... a bold strong beautiful black woman that can hold her own and ain't looking for he guy to save her
Excellent read, very well written. Fast paced action, intrigue, and romance. I highly recommend this series. With an urban contemporary setting and a well developed cast of characters it's easy to be drawn in and become a part of the story because the details are thorough without being tedious or overwhelming. I wish the main character was a little older, but she's still likeable. Intelligent, strong, virtuous without the over the top "sassiness" that can ruin a female lead. Her crew of guardians offer a variety of personalities to connect with from comedic to strong and silent. Her love interest is everything you want in a handsome bad boy, with a hint of "goodness." She gives you more than just your average vampire and werewolf. It's great to read a book that is full of diversity, and gives you a totally unique view of the paranormal.
I started this series once my stepsister turned me on to Minion. I've been ordering the books 2 at a time, so I don't have to wait to start the next one. I'm in love with these characters. I'm in love with the scenes she sets. I could easily see these being a Movie Series better than Twilight. (OBVIOUSLY, because Twilight is full of TERRIBLE acting!!! But I digress...) This is a great book. Arrived in WONDERFUL condition. Packaging was neat. I appreciate the speedy service! If you want a New Age, Afrocentric Vampire Series, this is definitely the way to go. It deviates from the norm. Its not exactly like Buffy or Angel or Dracula, but there is familiar Lore anyone who is a True Vampire Fan will understand & it still takes you into New Realms of Understanding.
