What began in the wasteland of DEAD MECH, continued alongside in Europe and Asia in The Americans, now has its epic conclusion in Metal and Ash! Commander James Capreze and his team of mech pilots no longer must battle just zombies, cannibals, religious cults and the ever dreaded dead mechs. Now they will be put to the test by the forces of the Three as the evil alliance bent on dominating every inch of the world attacks from two fronts, forcing Capreze to split his forces and make alliances with those he had been sworn to defeat. The wasteland becomes the setting for an epic fight for basic human survival like it hasn’t seen in hundreds of years. Will fifty foot battle mechs be enough against hundreds of thousands of techno-zombies ready to wipe everything living off the scorched map that is the wasteland? Join Capreze, his mech pilots, the refugee Americans, end every denizen of the wasteland as they make one final stand to keep the Three from bringing humanity’s downfall. Alliances are formed and broken, mech pilots are made and murdered, secrets are revealed and agendas destroyed, and thousands of bodies fall and rise again in the Apex Trilogy finale Metal and Ash!

Metal And Ash Apex Volume 3 Jake Bible 9781925047189 Books

Thanx Jake. Thanx for making me late for work because I stayed up WAY too late trying to consume the awesomeness that is the final book in the Apex Trilogy.

This book picks up right where the other two leave off, and never stops. Even when there is specific battle going on, the story moves at such a fast pace there is no good place to stop.

And he is right, I don't like some of the thing he does to the poor characters. Some are JUST PLAIN WRONG!

It's got 50 ton battle mechs, steamy bits, cannibals, zombies, enhanced zombies, techno-zombies, wacky cult leaders & psycho gung-ho military types. What's not to enjoy.

It's a great read. I highly recommend it!

Metal And Ash Apex Volume 3 Jake Bible 9781925047189 Books Reviews

Jake Bible is one fun writer! I've purchased all three of his Apex trilogy books, and they are a great read! I give book 3 4 stars instead of 5 because it does seem like he rushed to finish it and left some some ideas unfinished. However, I HIGHLY recommend this as a fun airport read, or guilty pleasure sci-fi zombie horror book. It was really good times, and I am looking forward to reading more of Jake Bibles stuff!
Wow, what a strong finish! I could not put this book down.
I love the style that Jake uses with telling the various parts of the story all at once and how fluidly they come together. It makes it so that there is always something going on so that you don't want to put the book down. As someone earlier said, thankfully no one is sacred, so anything can happen as it should. Both of the previous stories came together seamlessly to compliment and complete each other.

Hopefully there may be some side stories coming out of this world, there have been several interesting characters and groups from the wasteland that leave my mind begging for more.
Yet again Jake Bible does it again with a purely awesome series. Through out the series you never really know how every choice is going to play out, thought that just makes you keep the book in hand and keep on reading tho find out. Most definitely a great series to read. A must have.
First off, I listened to the first two books on his podcast. The third book was started but not continued for various reason he stated. It is what it is.

I was disappointed he chose to destroy an entire group, that I thought, we had a vested interest in. It lends itself to the question, What was the point? And the ending could have closed a few more doors for me.

All in all I did like the series and the whole "Dead Mech" zombie twist.
As the third book in Jake Bible's Apex Trilogy, Metal and Ash continues Bible's cinematically written three part story. The pacing is fast with an equal amount of action, suspense, horror, and humor. Jake's style reminds me a little of Robert McCammon's early work with the paranoia of Stephen King's Salem's Lot. As with his first two books of the trilogy, this one moves fast. There are no dull moments nor time to breathe. Jake's characterizations are well written and his humor adds a nice balance to the horror. He interweaves a number of different secondary threads at any given time throughout the first two books, Dead Mechs and The Americans, which are not sequels but rather parallel novels occurring at the same time but in different locations. Jake brings the two separate books fully together in Metal and Ash. Zombies are a large part of the storyline but these are not your typical zombies and this trilogy is definitely more than just a zombie read. Keep your eyes open for more from Jake Bible. He is definitely an up and coming talent to watch.
I couldn't put the damned book down!!! A great read right from the start. It reads like my minds eye could see the movie version, from one scene to the next, sometimes within a single page. Rich (and at times quite vulgar) characters development, complex story elements and, just like movies of the past, surprises you didn't see coming...or at least you were hoping they'd come. And yes, people do die. That's yet another element to the Apex Trilogy story that appeals to me. Sometimes a good guy or girl doesn't make it. That's life people, get over it. Life, and stories, would be rather boring if everyone lived 'happily ever after'......BS!!!
A word to the squeamish Some scenes are right out of a Rob Zombie movie. Talk about 'gory details'.... But overall this is a great story where some of the military elements remind me of John Ringo's novels. I whole heartedly applaud you Jake. Keep those virtual presses running hot. LOVE THOSE MECH's.
First, the bad. I found the redundant incorrect usage of a couple words distracting. It made me wonder if Mr. Bible had an editor, or anyone else for that matter, glance over his novel before submitting it to be published. Small thing to be negative about I suppose, but that is my only complaint really!

Now on to the good. I have waited for this book, anxiously, since I read Dead Mech. I enjoyed the world he created and the characters, I wanted to see what became of them. He returns us to the Wasteland and it was actually nice to be back there. You fall in with the familiar crew and follow along as they struggle to survive against many new foes. If you were a fan of Dead Mech like myself then this will tie things up neatly for you while still leaving the door open for further adventures in the world he created.
Thanx Jake. Thanx for making me late for work because I stayed up WAY too late trying to consume the awesomeness that is the final book in the Apex Trilogy.
